Background:	The Bruton Educational Trust Scholarships were established in 2006 to provide educational scholarships to commencing rural or regional students at the University of Sydney who wish to study a degree course that is relevant to, and will have the capacity to benefit, the rural community of Australia, but whose financial circumstances would otherwise seriously inhibit the capacity of such students to undertake their desired course of study.
Open to:	To be eligible for the Scholarship, applicants must have qualified for university admission at a high school in Australia located more than 100km from the main quadrangle at the University or from the administrative offices at the Australian National University,Intends to commence their studies in the year of offer, andWill enrol in a University of Sydney undergraduate degree or combined degree, which is relevant to and will have the capacity to benefit the rural community of Australia.
Value:	The Scholarship is valued at $10,000 and is tenable for the normal full-time duration of the recipient’s degree course (including combined degrees) plus one additional honours year if an additional year is required for honours.
