International students at the HAW Hamburg can apply for financial support to complete their degree. There are two types of grants: one is offered by the DAAD (application to the HAW Hamburg International Office) and the second is offered by the City of Hamburg (application to the Studierendenwerk Hamburg). You can apply for both to increase your chances; though it is only possible to receive a grant from one of the sponsors.
Application Deadlines for the 2020 grants:
30 November 2019 (funding period January – June 2020)
May/June 2020 (the exact deadline has yet to be determined, funding period July – December 2020)
The length of funding depends on the date you plan to submit your thesis and finish your studies.
